The role:

We are seeking a Sr Microsoft Server DBA who has a passion for databases in a fast-paced environment.  The job responsibilities include database administration of backups, HA, security, DR, installations of databases and tools, transactional replication maintenance, system monitoring, and performance tuning.  The candidate should also be able to handle database deployments with scripting tools and automated methods.  The candidate should have experience working in virtual environments. Experience in the cloud a plus.  Experience with MySQL databases a plus.  Excellent communication and team building skills required.

 

What a qualified candidate should possess:

  • Database administration in a virtual environment
  • Performance investigation at the virtual and SAN level
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008, 2014, 2016
  • Transactional replication support
  • Knowledge of sql auditing requirements
  • Disaster Recovery
  • Powershell scripting
  • Windows batch scripting
  • Backup and restore procedures and monitoring
  • Experience using data sync tools such as Idera or Red Gate
  • Experience monitoring systems to ensure uptime and identify issues proactively
  • Excellent communication skills.  This position interfaces with development, QA, other DBAs, and operational staff.   Must be able to understand requirements and communicate solutions that help meet the goals of projects or issues
  • This position requires after-hours on-call duties on a rotating basis. 

 

Nice to have:

  • Experience in AWS or Azure environments
  • Experience with MySQL
