The Role:

We are looking for a business analyst to join Ticketmaster to support Marketing and Communications by providing analysis & planning across business platforms.  The goal of this role is to provide strategic reporting, insights and analyses to be used in marketing projects. This role will also support public communications that drive revenue growth and improve marketing performance.

The ideal candidate is a strong data analyst with a background in online/ecommerce business and knowledge of online marketing. The candidate thrives on innovating in a fast-paced environment and is excited by the scale and complexity of Ticketmaster’s business. Ability to successfully manage complex projects and roll outs to tight deadlines simultaneously is a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding your business stakeholders’ objectives, gathering requirements, understanding the metrics that are the most important to them, and how they measure their performance
  • Measure, report and analyze results across products, channel, platform and other performance segments.
  • Coding (SQL) reports and visualizations to help our stakeholders improve their performance
  • Conduct hands-on modeling/analytics retrieving, compiling, and analyzing large volumes of data from disparate databases into distilled, actionable information needed by senior leadership to answer critical questions
  • Own the design, development, validation, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions
  • Turning business requirements into technical requirements
  • Develop recommendations and clearly communicate results of analysis to senior management
  • Perform internal, ad hoc analysis of key strategic initiatives across multiple departments
  • Collaborate with other functional teams, e.g., Desktop, Mobile, Product, Strategy, Marketing, to understand the impact of analysis across multiple areas of the business.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred. Master’s degree is a plus
  • 2-3 years of business experience in online/digital companies handling and analyzing large data sets to successfully drive conclusions
  • 1+ years of experience with relational databases (like Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server), SQL (must be able to write complex, highly optimized SQL queries across large volumes of data), Business Intelligence tools, and similar software required
  • 1+ years of professional experience (post undergrad) in business analytics, business intelligence (BI), or comparable consumer analyst position handling large, complex data sets
  • Strong influencing and collaboration skills, particularly with working with business end users
  • Strong Excel skills - must be comfortable analyzing large quantities of data utilizing Excel, create complex formulas, pivots and develop models.
  • Previous work with Agile and Lean practices preferred
  • Experience with Tableau or equivalency to create impactful reports, visualizations, and interactive dashboards
  • Exceptional quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to draw insights and recommendations from analysis and present proposals to internal stakeholders.
  • Able to work quickly, able to experiment and amend approach based on data analysis and results.
  • Experience in defining and executing tests based on a specific set of assumptions/ Hypothesis and goals, iterate and continue improvements as required.
  • Must have expertise in Omniture, Google Analytics Premium and other web analytic tools
  • Strong problem solving and issue resolution skills
